Hi,

I have deleted the message, sorry to start a new thread.

I confirmed today that I could only delete the last vdisk
in a single logical array. That's just a limitation of
this device, or at least the way it works on VMS with
that ACUXE / Windoze Exploder interface.

I have not looked at msa$util. Reading the help file,
it looks like this may have more capability than
ACUXE, but I recall that SmartArray does not
necessarily have all of the capabilities which
msa$util could exercise. Study required. Sigh.

OK, its in the relase notes for VMS 8.3-1H1.

Why does this text (under DELETE) bother me?

"Be sure to maintain a record of the unit numbers and the order in
which they are created on a disk/disk group"

More study required. Anyone actually used MSA$UTIL
to delete vdisks from a logical array in an SA530x,
and then add other vdisks back in? Does it work?
