Am intending to mount a 1U server onto the rack that was the structure
of my All Mighty Microvax II (had the big Q5 cabinet that was stripped
of its skins).
The rack itself has round, unthreaded holes. But I have a number of the
small "clips" that hold a nut behind a hole.
With the text below, would it be correct to state that I need the
threaded hole rackmount kit ?
The Apple Xserve has the following options:

Mounting Kit
Xserve supports a wide range of industry standard four-post racks
and cabinets and supports rack depths from 24-inches to 36-inches deep
using a quick-deployment rail design that does not require cage nuts.
Select rack mounting rails for square hole racks or threaded racks.

Xserve has a rack-mount rail system that is designed to be quicker
and easier to deploy, whether you are deploying one in a networking
closet or hundreds of units in a data center. These rails support
industry-standard (EIA-310-D compliant) four-post racks and cabinets
with rail depths from 24-inches to 36-inches deep.
Two rail options are available - square hole of threaded hole - and
you should select either option based upon the kind of rack you will be
installing Xserve into. Most industry-standard four-post racks are based
on a square hole design, including the APC and GizMac racks that Apple
sells. Square hole rack rails do not require cage nuts to be installed
for mounting.
