Dinner time, what a good song is playing or in the midddle of intimate
moments are the very very worst. Any other time in between is still as
bad. I hate the phone almost as much as those scumbag pieces of shit
collectively known as lawyers.

I loathe telephone so much that I have a number of services on my line:
Caller-ID: IF you call and I can't see who is calling, I won't answer.
VoiceMail: If I didn't answer and it was important, leave a message.
Call-Intercept: If the caller has an unpublished number, they receive a
message telling them that we don't accept calls from unpublished numbers.
If it is important, they can leave a message stating name and purpose of
the call. It then rings us with a special ring and I can listen to the
description left and opt to accept or deny the call. This one has really
puts a limit on the telemarketers and, if they lie to get through, the
phone company will prosecute them. I hate liars more than mother rapers,
father stabbers and father rapers! ;)
At one time, I had the DECtalk answer the phone. If it was someone that
I knew, they could type a special code and the call would get though. I
also had it programmed to limit my childrens' phone abusing friends from
calling repeatedly throughout the day. Two calls per day and then they
were denied for 24 hours.
