Yes, it looks like he is clearly French, and quite possibly, Parisian so I
think the OP is taking the surly disposition and abrupt demeanour far too
personally. Regardless, I see little point in pursuing him further as he's
only going to surrender anyway :-)

(And suprised to see that Google "feeling lucky" search for "french military
victories" still turning up the same result after all these years :-)
