This is one of the those "Ah Ha!" moments when you then say, why not
look to porting this to OpenVMS.  It is an Open Source oriented
project and this is just the sort of thing we have been talking about
to get more exposure and functionality in the environment.

And you situation seems to be at a point where this might make sense
as far as an effort.
