It depends on your ISP. I've been using cable since late 2005 and it has
been very reliable. I had an outage last Monday for about 3 hours, and
apart from the odd power cut, that's been only the second or third one
(that I've noticed).
And I've been sitting on the same DHCP IP address since somewhere
between 17-Aug-2007 and 24-Aug-2007 :-)
