6 inches (about 15cm) in New Jersey has been known to cause the Governor
to declare a "state of emergency". I damned near died laughing; I took
my driving lessons and earned a Massachusetts drivers license, in deeper
snow than that! Not a LOT deeper maybe seven inches (17.8 cm)
The real problem is that most New Jersey residents have no experience
with that much snow! Ten or eleven years ago, we had an honest to God
blizzard here; we were sent home from work at about 1PM. It took me
something like four hours to make the ten mile trip home! If I had had
the road to myself, I would have made the trip in forty-five minutes to
an hour. The roads were bumper to bumper with the terrified and clueless!
