Um, Richard?

D'ya ever here the old saying, "You'll attract more (bugs) with honey
than with vinegar"?

Specifically, this kind of talk does not advance the OpenVMS cause one
iota:

Put yourself in the other person's shoes.

Who would YOU rather do business with?

The snake - coiled, hissing and poised for attack?

...or the snake charmer, calmly trying to coax the snake into docility?

Remember: Even I have posted such things as, "YOU GOTTA BE SHITTIN'
ME!!!" As Carlin once said, "it's the old joke about the worm looking
out of the bird's ass: 'You wouldn't shit me, would ya?'"

In the end, it doesn't matter whether "they" are wrong or not: "THEY"
hold the cards - it's THEIR game, and "THEY" make the rules.

That said, Multinet is a great alternative to UCX as long as you don't
need super-high volume of transactions (the old direct vs. buffered I/O
issue - Google this group for it).

Take some more hydrochlorothyazide, Benecar or whatever the doctor has
given you for your blood pressure - or Vicodin, Valium or whatever you
can get on the nearest street corner - and learn to play nice with the
other kiddies.

My $0.02...
