I tried your code and got:

Product Name: "HP LaserJet P2055dn"
Printer Name: "HP LaserJet P2055dn"
PostScript Level: 3
Version: 3011.001
Revision: 1

I defined the logical name, stopped the queue and restarted it.
There was no change in the behavior, the spurious extra page
with the diamond character in the upper-left corner still comes
out. Darn.

Since the client has a support contract, I'm going to
submit a bug report. Since the immediate problem has been
solved with the Lexmark printer, I'm not going to devote
much time to this now.

Thanks for all the suggestions. If I ever solve this problem,
I'll post a follow-up.

Alan
