Thinking back about this, I remember there was a change in backup a long
time ago regarding this behavior.
Looking at the VMS FAQ and the doc it looked like I could use /NOINCREMENTAL
for this backup.
but HELP says :
In recent versions of OpenVMS, the /SINCE=BACKUP incremental
save operation has been refined so that files that are saved are
accurate and not redundant. As a result, the /NOINCREMENTAL and
/SINCE=BACKUP qualifiers are not allowed together. This ensures
an accurate /INCREMENTAL restore.
So I guess that too was changed later on (after 7.2 and the initial change
to BACKUP)
%BACKUP-I-INVQUAL, qualifier /NOINCREMENTAL is ignored with the
/SINCE=BACKUP operation
Wasn't there a logical name that we could set to restore the pre-7.2
functionality in BACKUP, or am I dreaming ?
I definitely don't need to ever do an incremental restore on these files.
Thanks
