I got that as well, it sadly sounds like your floppy diskette
drive is deteriorating...  (My floppy diskette drives are also
in dying/near-dead condition at the moment.)

It boots, that's a start.  What about ethernet switches,
what do you have between the DEC 3000 and the Multia?
