Two things I'd like to add to that.

First of all, I did specifically look into the firmware.  The BACKUP
save-sets I found, in Freeware V5, gave me record-related errors (I
don't have the specific error messages handy, but what it boils down
to is that I couldn't write the BACKUP save-set as an 'image' to a
floppy diskette).  Restoring RMS attributes didn't help at that.  The
only things that did work, were the images as provided by and on the
DJE Systems web-site [*].  Assuming that's what you were referring to?

Secondly, the floppy I created reads out correctly on a DS10.  It's
just my Multia/UDB that appears to have trouble reading it...

As always, any input is very much appreciated.  I'm very grateful for
the help and the provided installation media!
