It is created with whatever disks in the system shadow set that
are available. Usualy at least two disks.

As has been described in earlier posts, that is only done
manualy once when you form the system shadow set the first time.
And that can very well be done "by hand" from DCL.

Wrong. It can be removed since it is not needed after the
initial creation of the system shadow set. That command was
never needed there in the first place.

At that time, just issue a MOUNT command by hand once and you're set.
The (system) disks themself "remembers" the shadowing setup.
