I had a similar problem when I tried to run AUTOGEN on 8.3 as part of 
getting the latest Hobbyist licenses installed.  The old ones had 
expired so there were various startup problems.  On top of that I was 
running in a different emulator from the last AUTOGEN.

Too many variables to investigate properly.  I did a CTRL-Y out, 
rebooted into a minimum system, applied the licenses then did another 
AUTOGEN and that was fine.
