I'd skip all that command line nerd stuff.
Iirc there's an nedit for VMS, this would
be a better fit for a lowly VS3100.
A decent browser, mail and news client
are more urgent. Imagine you could use
such a well equipped 3100 to bid on
eBay for a sorely needed RAM upgrade :-).
