I'm told that HP can't be trusted to continue with OpenVMS and they may discontinue the Itanium Machines. Also, it's too hard to find VMS Experts in the work force. Also, I'm told that the industry is moving from OpenVMS to Windows everywhere.

You did not say where you are located, but I am pretty sure you will
find that there are still plenty of 'VMS Experts' out there.
I also cannot imagine anyone who would want to run critical
infrastructure on Windows. You will find there are still businesses
that have their back-end processing running on VMS.
As mentioned elsewhere, make sure you have added up *all* of the costs
of moving to a different platform/OS/etc. Only you can decide what is
right for your situation.
