The OpenVMS LAN Driver even tries to help you and reports 'possible Duplex mode mismatch'. For connections to an unmanaged switch, you need to set the LAN Interface to AUTO, because an unmanaged switch will most likely have all it's ports set to AUTO.

SRM and LANCP just report, what you set the LAN Interface to. Because you've set the Interface to EWA0_MODE FASTFD, LANCP just reports that setting.

As I wrote previously, since OpenVMS V7.3-2 the OpenVMS LAN Driver correctly does auto-negotiation - it was less than perfect with older Version ! The fact that 'IP seems' to work only shows that re-transmissions automatically take care of your wrong configuration. DECnet and LANCP actually report the problem. That's the OpenVMS way of handling problems...
