[Info-vax] 8.4 and DECwindows CDE login box not coming up

Yes, the first reboot done "by hand", two months after the upgrade.

%DCL-W-IVVERB, unrecognized command verb - check validity and spelling
 \XHOST\

That's not a VMS command.

Is this documented anywhere?  Normally this is set in
DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM, which SYS$MANAGER:DECW$STARTUP.COM reads.
