I'm with him. Around here, most of the simple-minded
(serial) system consoles (HP PA-RISC workstation, HP zx2000,
Sun workstation, VAX, XP1000, ...) are connected to DECserver
terminal server ports, which can be reached by LAT from my
main Alpha system. (I haven't tried it, but I suspect that I
could arrange to use Telnet for that part, too.) For the
smarter ones (rx2600, ...), I use Telnet to talk to their iLO
gizmos directly.

My suggestion would be to start by describing what you
wish to do _functionally_, rather than listing a bunch of
hardware which may or may not be useful in solving the actual
problem. Which system (Mac, rx2660) is where? Where is a
serial cable practical? Where is Ethernet required?

I disagree.
