Hello Ian.

Did you try just deleting and re-adding the proxy, rather than the whole 
account ?

There are two proxy databases: NETPROXY.DAT and NET$PROXY.DAT, where 
NET$PROXY.DAT appeared around OpenVMS V6.2 time.

If the accounts go back that far, or perhaps if someone copied the 
SYSUAF.DAT and NETPROXY.DAT files from elsewhere, but forgot the 
NET$PROXY.DAT, then it may be that the entries in the two proxy datbases 
aren't synchronised.
