I am not so sure about that.

If VMS were to compete in the desktop markets then sure.

But I don't see that.

In the server market I see Linux as the biggest competitor for VMS.

Windows server has a big market share, but a lot of that is due to
the tight integration with the Windows client side stuff.

If we look at workloads that could run on Windows, Linux or VMS
then I believe that Linux is sitting on most of the market.
