That's not what I thought was hilarious.    Have a look at the Apple 
developer documentation and at the source code for XNU and which is 
available as Darwin, and have a look at the many frameworks involved.   
What's available is vastly larger than what OpenVMS offers.  ML, 
networking, the appliance-related features you're commenting on, the 
secure enclave and seL4 and particularly around the T-series processor 
used in the most recent Mac systems, and the many graphics and other 
task-related frameworks — far past the DECtalk and SMG frameworks in 
OpenVMS, for instance.  Vastly better accessibility support.  There are 
areas of macOS and iOS that are quite remaniscent of OpenVMS in ways, 
too.  There've been mistakes too, certainly.  Secure Transport had a 
silly mistake a while back.   But a whole lot of interesting work, too.
