ZFS is CDDL licensed.

CDDL is weak copy left and does work with proprietary licensed stuff.

There has been some discussion about Linux and ZFS as GPL and CDDL have
some "issues", but that is more on the GPL side than on the CDDL side.

But I believe VSI could use it for VMS.
