All the landfills around here have more and better security than a
lot of real companies I have worked for. One doesn't just pick things
up at the landfill.

I frequently put things out at the end of my driveway, usually
in good shape perfectly usable, but I find less and less desire
by people to take advantage of it and after a week or so I let
the garbageman take them.

As an avid skier I can assure you I would not ski on equipment
found in a dump. And I don't make my old equipment available
for others to use. Last set I got rid of I was told by the ski]
shop that t hey would not adjust them to fit new style boots
because they were unsafe. They really are more than barrel staves
and duct tape.
