Years ago I learned my printer lessons. I had several that needed TLC.
Problem was, TLC was rather expensive. Panasonic would not even talk to
me without a credit card number.
First lesson, if it's out of warranty, forget it.

Brother would talk to me over the phone, and was rather helpful. If
they didn't know a particular answer, they would get it. Brother
consumables, drums and toner, were as much as half what some were charging.

Inkjets have one purpose, to sell ink.
I'm currently using a Brother MFC 7820N and the use is infrequent. It's
lasted a long time, way over 5 years, and is still working well. If I
was doing more printing, I'd be looking at a color duplex device. Being
able to copy as well as print is a big advantage.
