I guess there was both positive and negative in the way square dancing was
portrayed on the Tonight Show last night. Positive in that, despite the ribbing some
of the dancers got, they took it in stride and continued to have fun anyway. Positive
too, in that some of our younger dancers made it to camera. The negative, as I saw
it, was that the majority of dancers were up there in the years. This, in my mind,
made square dancing look like more of a senior's activity, rather than an all-age
group activity for families. And as expected, the attire appeared to come under
attack. The are just my immediate thoughts on the show.
If anyone missed it, I suspect the piece will be available in a few days on the Tonight
Show website. I can burn a copy of last night's show onto DVD for those who can't
wait.
