Much of the appeal of a Live Band dance is that it is a novelty.
I'm glad they had 21 squares for their live band dance.  If they
scheduled a live band dance every week, they probably would
not draw that size of a crowd every week.
 
So the key is to keep coming up with ways to make it novel,
different, unusual and exciting.  A live band is certainly a  very
effective way of accomplishing that goal.
