The night went real well. I took a chance and did not even talk to
anyone in charge about it. What I did do was use my mailing list,
where I send out reminders of up coming dances and announced it there.
I asked those coming to wear RED or something seasonal. And a few did,
including me. When the lead couple arrived, I cornered them to ask if
what I had planned was ok. I told them the music would be generic. By
that, I meant no mention of Christmas or even songs on the religious
side of things. They were ok with that. The Rabbi was not there,
although he has attended two of our dances, since we organized in the
early part of this year.

I chose music like Winter Wonderland, Let it Snow, Jingle Bell Rock,
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Here comes Santa Clause. I also
used patter records that were "Disney Like" or had high keyed piano in
them.

We had 3 brand new dancers that night. All said they would be back and
bring more friends.

For one of my next themes, I am looking at "A Night of Stars" and the
different ways I can use them.

Lets see:

1. Make 2 stars, like Venus and Mars. There are a few variations of
this.
2. Bring back the old call "Star and Travel" for one night.
3. Bring back the old call "Star the Route" for one night.
4. From a Zero Box: Make a RH Star, Head to the middle, Make a LH
Star but this time Star half way, make a RH Star with the outside two, etc.
5. Heads Star by the left, pick up you corner and Star Promenade,
Back out and Circle Left (He/He and She/She), etc.
6. I should be able to work out some sort of a Star into a Single File
Promenade Home. That's a little what "Star and Travel" is like.
7. Of course the typical Star formations we are all accustomed to.
