I have been Square Dancing since December 1978, when I took lessons with the Rutgers Promenaders. Betsy Gotta was my instructor. I still dance with the Promenaders and Betsy is still calling for the club along with Dan Koft. The club dances the Mainstream Program. We also have rounds cued by Roy Gotta and Kathy Koft. The Rutgers Promenaders is a member of the Northern New Jersey Square Dance Association (NNJSDA).
Square Dancing is a fun activity for all ages and you don't need a partner or special outfits. While some of the music we dance to is classic country, not all is. You'd be surprised at the type of music that is used.
